About Ross

Ross has over 35 years experience in road and bridge works; construction, maintenance rehabilitation. He has particularly focused on understanding what happens in a team to cause it to achieve outstanding results.

Ross' first drive to achieve specifically outstanding results was in 1993 when he was required to downsize his Works Office from 90 road workers to 15 and to contract out all of the work. This coincided with the introduction of Quality Assurance into the roadworks industry and Ross' office at Mittagong became the benchmark for Quality Assurance in the contracting and asphalting arms of the roadworks industry in NSW.

Ross then took the same principles and applied them across all the systems on projects when he worked as the Systems Manager on three high profile bridges in NSW: Seacliff Bridge in Wollongong, The Sydney Harbour Bridge and ANZAC Bridge. Ross observes the very first “Quality Management Principle” listed in ISO 9000 is leadership. The International Standard does not list Management as the first principle, it lists Leadership.

Ross therefore uses the proven principles of leadership and applies these with his decades of of experience in the civil construction industry to achieve outstanding results in Quality, Safety and Productivity and does this in a way that leaves a legacy of skills in the team members and a group of developing leaders.
