Ross offers consulting services to the civil construction industry based on his 35 years experience in road and bridge works; construction and maintenance rehabilitation. He is a Civil Engineer with areas of expertise including:
Systems Management: Ross is an experienced Systems Manager and was the Systems Manager on the RTA's first Alliance Project. This meant Ross had to innovate and develop the role to satisfy the needs of both the construction project and of the Client.
Quality Management: Ross has been delivering training in Quality Management around NSW since 1995. Ross developed the training with a view to making ISO 9001 meaningful to practising field engineers in order that they could understand the intent of the specifications under which they work.
Safety Management: Ross has developed and implemented a safety culture program for construction projects. His fundamental approach is that Systems and Statistics have delivered much improvement in safety, but in the civil construction industry, safety performance tends have plateaued and will stay plateaued until the human and relational aspects of safety are addressed.
Productivity Management: Ross has developed and implemented a project culture program for construction projects. The basic message is that in our industry, we are in the People Business. If our people form teams that “Click” the performance boost is remarkable. Ross has observed that teams sometimes “Click” by sheer good luck, but running complex projects by hoping for good luck is not a reliable strategy.
